Licenses expire on March 31st of each year. Regardless of the time of year that you license, renewals take place each March 1-April 30. If you are new to town or you have a dog six months of age or older you may license any time of year without penalty. The Town Clerk's office is open weekdays from 9AM-4PM. Licensing may be done in person or by mail. The cost for licensing is $5 for spayed/neutured dogs, $10 for intact dogs. If you choose the mail method please include a check made payable to the Town of Sheffield and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please send mail payment with proof of current rabies vaccine to:

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A RATE INCREASE FOR SPAYED/NEUTERED DOGS EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2008. THERE IS ALSO AN INCREASE IN NON-COMMERCIAL KENNEL LICENSES. PLEASE INQUIRE AT THE CLERK'S OFFICE FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION.
