The Town of Sheffield is seeking applications from qualified persons to fill an opening in the Highway Department for an Equipment Operator/Truck Driver/Laborer. Under the direction of the Highway Superintendent, works maintaining roads and streets, parks, and cemeteries; drives light and heavy trucks; operates heavy equipment including backhoe, grader and loader; repairs and maintains vehicles and equipment; plows snow; operates chainsaw; mows cemeteries and parks. Physical requirements of the position include walking, shoveling, raking, lifting moderately heavy to heavy objects, climbing, using hand tools and equipment, driving vehicles, and operating heavy equipment. Experience required. Possession of valid Class “B” CDL and Class 2B Hoisting Engineer Licenses required. Must be available for overtime as required. Pay as per AFSCME contract: $19.64 per hour (40 hour week). Excellent Benefits.
