Town Administrator

The Town Administrator serves as the Town's Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of town government as outlined in Chapter 15 of the Acts of 1989 (An Act Establishing A Board of Selectmen- Administrator Form of Administration in The Town of Sheffield)

The Town Administrator is responsible for the efficient administration of all offices and departments under the jurisdiction of the Board of Selectmen and keeps the Board of Selectmen informed as to the needs of the Town. The Administrator makes recommendations to the Selectmen on measures requiring action by the Board or by the Town, and is responsible for assisting the Board of Selectmen in the recruitment of department heads and employees. In addition, the Town Administrator is responsible for the administration of the Town's personnel system, serves as Chief Procurement Officer, is the agent for the Board of Selectmen for collective bargaining, and compiles the annual operating and capital budget for all departments and submits the annual budget to the Finance Committee.
